From alternative brand Nemesis Now, this magnificent statuette of the Greek Goddess Hekate.
Hecate is most often associated with crossroads, entrance-ways, light, magic, witchcraft, knowledge of herbs / poisonous plants, ghosts, necromancy, and sorcery. Here she is depicted as a singular being, surrounded by her dogs. Dogs were a common sacrificial animal in rites to invoke the Goddess, and the sacrificed dog was often eaten, but some theories hold that Hecate's dogs were actually shades or demons.
A "Veronese statue" - i.e. cast in the finest resin before being finished in a faux cold cast bronze to give the rich look and feel of metal. Hand painted accent colors enhance its beauty - this is the large version at 32 cm tall
