The name "pyrite" is after the Greek pyr meaning "fire." This name was given because pyrite can be used to create the sparks needed for starting a fire if it is struck against something hard. Pyrite is also called “fools gold” as they can look alike
'-however it can actually indicate the presence of gold as the two minerals often form together. So you can use your specimen to help spark your own internal fires and passions if required; or as part of a wish to attract more “gold” into your life.
