Gaint three horned Rhinoceros Beetle from Sumatra - a well preseved specimien with open wings
Offical name = Chalcosoma caucasus
These taxidermied specimens were made in Australia by Papillion Entomolgy at least 20 years ago - using a special patented process - with clear glass on both sides to allow you to view the underside.
The trade off is the glass doesnt stay pristine on the inside over time. Still they are so dramatic you hardly notice that. The design also means you can either stand on a table or hang from a wall.
Note a small part of a leg has broken off (and is loose inside the box) - but you cannot notice that at all.
Size - 26 x 21 cm
Would prefer these be picked up in Kyneton due to risk of breakage in the post
